Storybook endings, fairytales coming true
Deep down inside we want to believe they still do
In our secretest heart
It's our favorite part of the story
Let's just admit we all want to make it to ever ever after
If we just don't get in our own way
Ever ever after
It may only be a wish away

Today, I got reminded of the past and what I have totally lost if not for my foolishness. Although it's so long ago, and I am pretty sure it doesn't even matter to you, I still can't forget that damn incident. and you

And it is also today that I feel that I am such a bitch.

CHIANGRAI OCIP (:

HELLO I AM BACK!!!!! :D Sorry for the really late update because I was too lazy to update about the trip. Hahaha so yeah the trip was damn good. Learnt how to play Bridge and star gazed a lot because the sky there is super clear except for one night. Farmed for the first in my entire life too! Oh oh and we bathed in cold water every single day in the cold weather and there was no mirror for one whole week! Haha. Shall attempt to blog about the whole trip so it would be rather long.

Day 1
Met at the airport at about 5.45am and was super tired because I slept close to 2 packing my stuff because FM open ended super late. Could spot the super striking yellow shirt we all were wearing from afar hence no problem finding people (: Checked in and everything and Clara realised that she took the wrong passport by mistake and her parents had to rush back to take it for her. Headed to Burger King for breakfast but ended up drinking overpriced milo only cos I remembered the plane would be serving breakfast! :D So Thai Airways to Bangkok and then the girls and guys went their own ways to walk around. Shopped awhile while waiting for the transit flight which was like 3 hours later. Then went to Burger King to slack and learned how to play Bridge! Was late in meeting the rest cos we lost track of time and got scolded by Mr Tan Jek Suan which in case you all didn't realise he went for the trip with us with Ms Elaine Lim who came in third for the women catagory in the 42.196km marathon :OOOO Anyway, Transited over to Chiangrai where most of us fell asleep because we were damn tired. Reached there and Sister Bernard brought us to this shopping centre in the town area of Chiangrai called The Big C for lunch. The food there is really cheap like 30baht for a plate of Phay Thai with egg which converted to Singapore dollars is like $1+. Walked around a bit then went back to our vans where we travelled for another 2 hours before reaching the mission home. Everyone fell asleep again. Reached there close to 10pm and most of the kids are fast asleep alr because they sleep at 8.30pm and wake up at 4am. Some of the older kids were still awake though and they tried to help us with the luggage but we declined. Froze the moment we got off the van because we weren't used to the temperature and I think it was less than 10 degrees. Then we all went to our dorms. Obviously the girls had one and the guys had another one. The dorm is really nice and clean although there was only a thin mattress a pillow and a blanket. Was quite thankful for these alr. Wanted to go bathe so Sophiana Charmaine and I went and omg we screamed in the toilet because the water is so FREAKING COLD. We all stood in the shower for close to 10minutes refusing to let the water touch our body. Hahahaha. Came out as an ice cube then went off to sleep.

day 2
Woke up a lot of times because the rooster has a really distorted clock. It starts crowing at weird timings or rather at any time. Hahaha. The kids also started washing their clothes at like 4plus in the morning and it didn't help that the washing machine is just outside our dorm. Haha. Alarm started ringing at around 0630 but everyone woke up only at 0640. Washed up and everything before meeting the teachers and guys for breakfast at 0700. Had breakfast at 0730 and the food is damn good!!!!!!!! Haha. Then Yuhao's group had to clear up the dishes for the day. After breakfast was followed by farming which is really a once in a lifetime experience because the kids have school in the morning. Brother drove us to the mountain and this is also the first time we sat in a pickup. REALLY COOL COS IT'S REALLY WINDY! (: Climbed up the mountain a bit which was really scary because it's really steep. Harvested rice which consists of beating the rice and plucking out the remaining grains from the stalk. Super tiring and from that day I swore never to waste rice ever again. Everyone had a sudden outbreak of rashes after the harvesting but Michael and Lucille were the worst. After that headed back for lunch then went back to the fields to gather the stalks. Clara stepped into the mud twice and her shoe got stuck. Hahaha. After that was Martin and then unfortunately me :( Went back and washed our shoes and then bathed and met the kids at the centre. THEY ARE SO CUTE I SWEAR ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG ONES! Had dinner with them after that but because they spoke Thai so we had to use sign language. Hahaha. Quite funny because Charmaine and I were desperately trying to speak Thai and it came out damn weird. Then headed to the hall after dinner to play with the kids and oh my tian they can really run! Played catching with the young ones until I almost died. Hahaha. Then played some game with them which was really funny cos everyone who saw couldn't stop laughing. Hahaha. Then it was time to pair up with our buddies. Charmaine and I each had 3 then we interacted with them awhile before it was time for them to sleep. Reflection at night in the chilly hall almost turned me into an ice cube. Haha.

Day 3
The children had no school today cos it was The King's birthday. But they still had to wake up early to sweep the area and wash clothes. Had breakfast without the kids cos they have theirs much earlier. Then it was time for gardening in the home compound! The guys went to chop firewood while the girls had weeding. It was super tiring cos my back was bent half the time trying to remove the weeds using the changko. Then after that the guys came over to help us after their firewood chopping. And the kids are super efficient as compared to us. Haha. Then after that we washed up the equipment and had lunch with the kids. After lunch had a talk by Sister Bernard on the history of the centre/home and her story really touched me because I never thought that what we do is really so significant and important to her. Then after that Lucille's group carried out their activity called the colouring competition and we realise that the kids really have a lot of hidden talent! They can draw damn well. Haha. Then after that was Frisbee by Ivan's group and the kids actually know how to play! They took the frisbee and started throwing it around. Hahaha. So we saved time teaching them and played frisbee the captain's ball style. Then it was bathing time followed by dinner with the kids again. Then had entanglement by I can't remember who's group and the kids are really fast! Especially the small ones because they are so small, they can move damn fast. Hahaha. Then played Simon says to fill up the remaining time. Martin, Benji and Emily took turns to be Simon and it was damn funny! Apparently Martin did some super wrong action which cracked everyone up. Hahaha. The kids all had fun and yeah after that the girls went to bathe because the toilet was used up during bathing time so we all froze in the shower again. Haha. Then it was daily reflection again before sleeping.

Day 4
Same routine again and then after breakfast was weeding at the other side of the home. Haha. Chopped off trees and got stung by some funny insect quite badly because my right calf was completely swollen. Hoho. Then it was lunch before we had some free time to practise our cultural exchange item. Practised playing the guitar with Ivan and sang some songs led by Kathleen and Fifi. Then it was Mass dance practice led by Martin and Benji before we went off to bathe. Played a bit of basketball too! After bath we visit the night bazzar in the village near the centre and it is so cool! They were selling fried cricket and Yuhao and Martin tried it on the spot like as if it was just any other normal food. They even said it was nice and some of the other guys went to try. Walked around a bit and bought A LOT of food. Noticed a few uncommon things like very young girls being pregnant and married and we realise that it is their culture for them to get married very young like 14 and get pregnant by 16? My goodness. Then went off for dinner and sat with the small boys today and there is this boy called Sompod who was sitting next to me and he is SO CUTE!!!! His smile totally smitten Charmaine and I (: Haha. And they are very nice people always giving us food. Haha. Then there was this boy next to me also who is also super cute. Super cheeky also. He played a prank on me by trying to feed me orange and took it away in the end. Hahaha. But we ended up feeding each other and HE IS SO CUTE! I think he's only 8 or smth same as Sompod. Then another boy injured his leg and Ivan and I helped to clean up his bleeding wound. And throughout dinner, Sam and Jon's buddies kept poking me! Hahaha. Damn cute. Then after dinner we went to the hall again and saw this group of small girls playing zero point. Was really fascinated by the way they play because it is really interesting to see how they help one another to get across. Then played the Blindfold game led by I can't remember who's group where each group of kids belonged to one animal and we would separate all of them and they had to make that animal sound to find their fellow groupmates blindfolded. Played a few times and we still had some buffer time so we sang Father Abraham which was REALLY FUNNY because the guys went mad and then did the Friendship dance and the chicken dance with them. It was fun meeting new kids during the dance (: Reflection again before sleeping.

Day 5
Same routine then we went to across the centre to the pineapple plantation to weed again. Ate sugarcane for the very first time and it is super sweet! Damn nice and addictive. Haha. Saw some animal's bones in the plantation. Quite cool. Spent the entire morning doing that then had lunch before practising our item for cultural night again. Helped Emily with the skit this time round and sang and practised guitar again. Then played basketball before off to bathe. Dinner and then had photo frame design with the kids and our buddies. I realise that I can't draw for nuts. Haha. Then took pictures with our buddies and partner. Then after that was interaction time and then we played some childhood games with the kids which really relieved my childhood memories. Not a very eventful day then had reflection before sleeping.

Day 6
Woke up very early today at 0330 to climb or rather drive up to Puchifa Mountain to catch the sunrise. Reached the mountain and it is really damn cold! Was wearing like 4 layers and yet I was shaking O.O And Eric was wearing like yellow shirt and school jacket and he treated it like nothing. Hahaha. Amazing huh. Climbed to the mountain top and then camwhored A LOT (pictures up when I get them). Couldn't really catch the sunrise because it was rather cloudy but it was damn fun camwhoring. Kept crashing other people's photo. Hahaha. Then it was back for breakfast before carrying out my group's Captain's ball game because it was a Sat and the kids had no school. Then after that visited the Hmong tribe village and distributed sweets to the kids there. Really an insightful experience because the conditions they live in isn't very desirable. There was like cow, dog and bird dung everywhere and yet the kids can still run around barefooted. The houses there were also made of wood except for the richer people who had brick houses. Saw many cute dogs but the parent dogs are really aggressive like we almost got cornered once by 3 dogs against a group of us. And apparently according to the other group, Mr Tan placed his hand on top of some pipe/tap because he thought it was hot spring but it turned out to the sewage water!!! HAHAHAHAHA! Super funny. Then it was back for lunch before my group carried out our English lesson plan and mini competition. Oh we tried to teach them the word "sad" but it came out damn wrong and it sounded like "sex". HAHAHA! Then Eric's group carried out their broken telephone game. Super funny observing how the actions change along the line. Then some of the girls went off to the dorm to slack and camwhore. Then Siriluck (Charmaine's 6 year old buddy) popped up at our dorm and she was dancing away! Hahaha. SUPER CUTE! The video of her dancing is in Emily's phone. Played some game and recorded her voice down (: Then we bathed and got ready for Mass. Then had dinner before washing the dishes and it was then that I had two maids. Hahahaha. Ivan and Eric. Damn funny. Then off to prepare for cultural night. Did the most retarded thing by tying two ponytails because the girls were suppose to be fairies and the guys are elves and had to wear some funny hat. HAHAHA. Video of the skit up on the chiangrai blog. The children's item really impressed all of us. Then it was our turn and it started off with a bonus hip hop dance by Martin and Benji then we sang at the beginning which I am very sure they didn't understand. Oh and unfortunately one of the guitar's string snapped and hence I couldn't play which was good cos I wasn't very prepared anyway. Hahaha. Then had our skit followed by Mass Dance (O1). After that we had to stand in a line and the kids went around to hug us and yeah we all cried! It was so sad I tell you cos we were leaving the next day and we are going to miss this place so much. Then had gift exchange and photo taking. Long reflection in the wooden house which is where the teachers' stayed which made us damn emo. Haha. Then off to sleep after that.

Day 7 (Last day)
Woke up feeling super sad and packed our stuff cos we were leaving in the morning. Had our final breakfast there. Then off to pack our stuff again. Didn't dare to go to the hall because I was so scared I would cry all over again when I see my buddies. Packed everything and brought our stuff over to the hall. The kids were having bible study I think. Then it was the most dreaded moment. My buddies gave me a note and a friendship band each and yeah at first we were all okay then as we were leaving, I hugged all of them and we just cried. Really sad and touching because I never knew that in such a short 1 week, we could actually forge such strong bonds with one another. The love that we share with the children is really unconditional. Then it was time to go and yeah the trip to the town area in the van was just slience because everyone was just so sad. Really miss them a lot. Then reached The Big C again for lunch at MK! :D Then shopped around before heading to the Chiangrai airport for flight to Bangkok for transit. Headed to the Burger King at the Bangkok airport again to do our post trip reflection. Then went into the boarding area and waited. We were supposed to catch the 1955 flight but we waited till about 2000 and yet no one boarded and then Mr Tan went to check and we realise that our flight got delayed for 2 and a half freaking hours! And we thought we couldn't leave the boarding area after going through the customs so we stonned there for like super long until half an hour before boarding then we got a compensation from Thai Airways of 300baht (S$13) to buy dinner. And I was super hungry cos I didn't have dinner at Burger King cos I wanted to eat on the plane. We were scheduled to reach at 11pm singapore time but we ended up reaching only at 2am! WTF totally. Got a lift home from Eric because my parents couldn't fetch me back and yeah reached home close to 3am! Haha.

Well, lots of pictures taken but I am waiting for the people to upload it! Anyway to the group who went Chiangrai with me, thanks so much for the fun and laughter we had there. Let's go back after As! :D Love you guys plenty! <33

Milo and superstar!

Fund raising today at Bukit Batok St Mary's was just uber tiring considering that my nocturnal habits are back again :\ Haha. Met Emily at an unearthly time of 6.50am at Ang Mo Kio Mrt on a Sunday morning is just not right. In fact, it's detrimental to my health because Sunday is supposedly the sleep-in-do-not-disturb-me-I-bite day. Hahahaha. Attempted sleeping on the train but I couldn't sleep at all. And the bus was SOOOOOOOO empty with only the driver and I in it. She probably thought I was mad but whatever. Haha. Ended off at around 1plus and headed off to West Mall(this is the first time I actually set foot in the mall) for lunch with Charmaine Sophiana Emily Ivan Jonathan and Eric. Talked a lot and we were discussing about who's going to buy water and who shouldn't sit next to me on the plane because I need to sleepppppppppppppp etc etc. Can't wait for the trip now and I think I should start packing soon. Like really soon.

Countdown again: 8days to OCIP and 7days to FM Open
